Who We Are

 

+ What is Canterfield?

Canterfield is a family-owned and operated senior housing company with 9 locations in the Southeast. From our owners' experiences in both hotel and senior housing development, The Canterfield brand was designed to have aspects of the luxury hospitality industry while providing a gracious and caring home for seniors. We are proud to provide residents with an active lifestyle within a continuum-of-care.

+ What is Medical Development Corporation?

Medical Development Corporation (“MDC”) was the precursor to Canterfield. MDC specializes in the development and management of senior housing and healthcare products. The Atlanta-based company was established in 1990 and has been active in the long-term care and senior retirement housing sector for over 30 years. Its founder and Principal, Winston A. Porter, MDC and its predecessor companies have developed close to 2000 senior residential, assisted living and nursing home units. Currently the company is affiliated, owns, and/or manages fourteen senior housing properties including Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinics in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida, all of which MDC was primary in their acquisition and development.
